Prada's Swiss Cheese Sweater And Other Unwearable Fashion

One person’s trash is another's treasure; I agree with this idiom. I get the desire for being a nonconformist; the need to push the boundaries in fashion. I find fashion week trends amusing and feel that people’s desire to be different at all costs can be highly entertaining. However, I do wonder what is the point of fashion that tries to glorify poverty or is just outright silly. I do wonder why Prada felt the need to create a sweater full of holes.

The ‘openwork’ sweater from Prada

It is yellow and full of holes – looks very much like Swiss cheese. This is available for the princely sum of $ 1,350 or £905 (about Rs. 90,000/-). But this is far from the only unwearable bit of fashion around.

Zara sleeves

Just recently this object made waves on social media. Is it a top? Is it a sweater? Is it a brand new invention for just the neck, arms and shoulders? Also who needs this and why --- these were some questions netizens felt compelled to ask.

Hairy chest swimsuit

This is being sold on amazon.com right now for about $22 or less. Apparently this is supposed to be a joke swimsuit; available in beige, light brown and dark brown. Why would anyone want to wear this? No idea.

Plastic jeans

These jeans are made from plastic, which would presumably make them extremely uncomfortable and hot – and noisy – to wear. Currently, the item is not available on the topshop.com website. I wonder why? Did no one want to pay to wear them? How unexpected!

Extreme cold shoulder jacket

Jackets are an extra layer over clothing; meant to keep the person warm. Or so I thought. This jacket seems to defeat that purpose – probably why it says ‘out of stock’ on the product page.

Lace outfit for guys

These guys seem to be really in touch with the feminine side of their personalities: in terms of the lacy material and the pastel colours they sport. Good for them, I say!

Upside down jeans

For $385 and $495 respectively one could buy these upside down shorts and jeans in spired by the Netflix show Stranger Things.

Detachable jeans

There appears to be a waistband and leg covering. However, the middle portion of the jeans appears to be missing entirely. So what really is the point of these and what is the point of having those suspenders? Reasonably useless bits and pieces of clothing, this.

The half and half jacket/blazer

This apparently is for those days when one cannot decide whether to dress formal or casual and find the need to do both simultaneously.

Pecs shirt

This one is available on aliexpress.com right now for $15 or so. It says ‘funny dress shirt’ on the product page. If someone actually shells out money for any of these bizarre clothing items, I suppose the joke is on them.
