The Most Expensive Upcoming Films of India

1. Saaho

Film starring Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor will be released in multiple languages like Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on 20th April. It has been made on a high-budget of 150 crore and includes the use of VFX as well.

2. Zero

It is an upcoming 2018 Indian romantic drama film, directed by Aanand L. Rai. It stars Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles and is reportedly being made with a budget of about Rs.160 crore.

This is the second collaboration of these leading actors after Jab Tak Hai Jaan. It also will be the last time we will see Sridevi in action on the big screen.

3. Thugs Of Hindostan

The film stars Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in the lead roles. It has been written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya with a budget of approximately Rs. 200 crore. It's initial release is scheduled during Diwali on 7 November 2018.

4. 2.0

It is one of the most awaited films of 2018 starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles. According to the makers, the previous installment 'Robot' is like a teaser when compared to this film. They have used a lot of VFX technology to apparently give special effects that no one has ever tried in the Indian cinema. With a budget of around Rs. 450 crore, it will be one of the most expensive films in India.

5. Mahabharata/Randamoozham

Sometime last year, it was reported that Mohanlal will be playing the character of Bhima and the movie is going to be made with a budget of Rs. 1000 crore. This film is an adaption of MT Vasudevan Nair's book Randamoozham and it narrates the epic story through the eyes of Bhima. 

While, according to some reports Akkineni Nagarjuna may also be seen in the movie, playing the role of Karna. However, the shooting is yet to start and no other actor has been finalised except for Mohanlal. There are also reports that this movie might be released in two parts. First part will be released in 2020 and second 90 days after it.
