OK, full disclosure, I'm an Android loyalist who doesn’t understand why people want to pay so much extra for Apple gadgets. So I will be found frequently questioning Apple and the grandiose Apple product launch events. I have little clue whether the iPhone is currently on its 10th or 100th iteration. Now it is the announcement of the Apple 13 event that seems to have gotten everyone’s knickers in a twist on social media. However, Apple 14 was trending - why?
They announced the launch of the latest iPhone and promptly people were making those sell-a-kidney-to-afford-a-phone kinds of jokes.
You know now non-Apple enthusiasts laugh at Apple simps fans? That!
Those who just spent a fortune on last top end Apple phone are probably a tad put out by the announcement.
With the focus on cameras, is this what we can expect, asked people.
Those multiple cameras remind people of other things.
Because an iPhone upgrade is not really an upgrade, they feel.
They are using a much older iPhone and it doesn’t matter to them.
There is this apprehension – probably just a conspiracy theory – that Apple deliberately creates ‘updates’ to slow down older phones to encourage people to buy the newest models.
However, this happened.
What happened to iPhone 13, asked the tweeple when this started to trend. Is it some superstition?
Some haven’t finished paying for the iPhone 12 and they're already talking about iPhone 14? Why?
The cost savvy Indian consumer is thinking along these lines. Smart!
Did we skip it?
There is still confusion about why people are talking about #iPhone14 and not #iPhone13. Could it be because some social media influencer made a mistake? Could it be because Apple has decided to pander to a popular superstition against the number 13? Or is it just because the Apple Event for the new iPhone launch is announced for the 14th of September?
