6 Things to Do In Dubai this Week

Dubai is one the most happening cities for those looking for amusement, thrills, gastronomic delights and more. If you're in the city for a holiday or a resident looking to explore more of the city, here are some suggestions for things to do in Dubai:

Ramadan walk in of old Dubai

This is a three hour photo trail that explores the Al Fahidi neighbourhood in Dubai and the culinary traditions of the area. The place resounds with different languages; an area steeped in history with some stunning architecture to view. The time of iftar when the azaan is followed by the breaking of the fast is one of the highlights of this experience.

The immersive rain experience

It’s a rain experience in the desert and getting wet is optional! You walk into the permanent rain showers, but the unique sensors will switch off when they sense you are around. So essentially you're taking a walk in the rain without getting wet. For those in Dubai, its just a short drive to Al Majarrah Square, near Al Majarrah Park, Sharjah for this experience.

Drive a supercar

Head to the Dubai Autodrome track to experience some super speeds with the 570bhp Ferrari GT, or the 625bhp McLaren Sprint. You can also experience the Easy Drift Experience or the Prodrift Academy Experience or take in the Hot Lap Experience, where a professional instructor will speed you around the track.

Beef wellington week at bread street kitchen

Atlantis, the Palm has all sorts of interesting events this June, including a week long culinary event at the Gordon Ramsay restaurant Bread Street Kitchen. Meat lovers can enjoy the celebrity chef’s signature dish all this week. The surf and turf menu also features some delectable lobster options.

Wild Wadi Waterpark

The beachfront water park with a view of the Burj Al Arab offers 30 rides and is a great outing for the family. Juha, a character from folklore forms the theme of the park. Currently visitors can avail discounted Ramadan rates. Entry is free for in house guests from Jumeriah hotels.

Gallery of Light Ramadan exhibition

The annual art exhibition Ramadanization is an annual event and this year’s (the third) edition showcases Dubai's artist community once again. Head to the Gallery of Light, Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre (DUCTAC) to imbibe some of the spirit of Ramadan.
