First The Poster And Now The Story, This Is Why We Just Can't Get "Tiger Zinda Hai" Off Our Minds

One of the most compelling hits of 2012, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer "Ek Tha Tiger" worked some impressive box office magic. Even as the movie didn't get the stormy reception that other Salman hits like Bodyguard and Ready garnered, Ek Tha Tiger did well to pack quite a punch. A dramatic story line, complex action sequences and cloak and dagger escapades ensured that the movie earned its share of fans. Now, news has it that a sequel to 2012's Ek Tha Tiger has just been announced, with posters out earlier this week. So, what can we expect from 2017's "Tiger Zinda Hai".

1. The muscled Khan is back

After registering one of the biggest hits of his glowing career, Salman Khan is back once again and doing what he does best- bringing an interesting fusion of action, romance and drama in a magnetic charm that only he can bring. Moreover, audiences will be geared up for what this 'Tiger' can deliver this time.

2. A much loved chemistry set to sizzle again

Katrina and Salman scorched tabloids and painted the town red when they were together. In fact, even when the much-publicized pair split, a mere instance of the two coming together on screen would set fireworks rolling whether it was on TV or Print. Later, post their break-up when Ek Tha Tiger was announced, audiences loved an opportunity to see the silvery pair on screen. Now, with the sequel, it seems romance will get a doubly powerful.

3. An action packed offering that will leave audiences gushing

With Kabir Khan at the helm of directorial affairs of Ek Tha Tiger, we saw rapt action set ablaze by gun-slinging and cloak and dagger pursuits. But it is rumored that the famous 'Sultan' director, Ali Abbas Zafar is set to direct the sequel. This could mean- we could get a chance of peculiar and seasoned detailing in 'Tiger Zinda Hai' that reminded us of the epic action that Ek Tha Tiger brought forth to audiences. Salman and Abbas Ali go along well together and this could mean some new-age sizzling action rout on the big screen.

4. Katrina Kaif's return to action genre

She impressed as the quintessential woman spy shrouded in secrecy in Ek Tha Tiger. She made fans take notice of her serious acting talent in 2015's Phantom. Now, she is set to reprise her role as the super-secret Pakistani spy working for ISI in 'Tiger Zinda Hai', the sequel. One can see a noted change in the way Katrina conducts herself- marked with poise and élan- in serious, offbeat roles that are miles apart from the regular Bollywood gloss.

5. Fighting a common enemy

The first half of 2012's hit Ek Tha Tiger saw Indian Raw Agent (Salman) tag against the charming but mysterious damsel from Pakistani ISI. Later, love brought the two together, leaving behind a forever thinning border divide and neighbouring angst. The sequel, 'Tiger Zinda Hai', will see the duo fight a common enemy, if sources are to be believed. This could well be a tug of war between justice and injustice, pride and hatred and viciousness against charisma.

6. The aging conflict

It is being widely speculated that in the famous sequel, "Tiger Zinda Hai", both the actors will be seen in a different avatar: that as aged spy operatives for their respective covert agencies. Presumably, if this is correct, then in order to give audiences some authentic espionage action, there will ruling of brains over brawns and it's a refreshing change when Salman's movies follow that path.

7. A chance for Aman ki Asha

It is no surprise that the only time the two mostly warring and indifferent nations come together is on the cricket pitch. But even then, its rivalry that steals the show disarmingly. But through "Tiger Zinda Hai", with RAW and ISI joining forces together, it would mean a historic opportunity to see warring enemies functioning with daring and guile, coming together to rule a common target. One can hope that this will finally help in easing some cross-border anxieties between India and Pakistan.
