Spiderman Is (Probably) Out Of The MCU And This Is A Disaster!

If you wept at the sight of Ironman’s anguish when Spiderman was snapped out of existence and the idea of all the superheroes ever getting together to vanquish evil gladdens your very heart, this is bad news. Spiderman is likely to leave the Marvel Comics Universe (MCU) and apparently it is all because of corporate greed! Fans were heartbroken at this latest bit of Avengers news and weren't going to take it lying down.

Sony and Disney are fighting

The dispute between the two media houses has been on for a couple of months and they seem unable to come to terms about finances.

#SpiderManFarFromTheMCU

This means that Spiderman and the character played by Tom Holland will no longer be a part of the MCU. Soon this hashtag was trending.

Heartbroken

Both my daughters expressed a mixture of rage and helplessness at the news of Spidey leaving the MCU. Ditto Twitter.

#SaveSpidermanFromSony

The tweeple quickly cast Sony in the role of arch villain and hurled the choicest abuse at Sony and whoever else they thought was at fault.

#SpiderManFarFromTheMCU

Others felt a sense of déjà vu – after all this is not the first time that Spidey went away.

Corporate greed

Most people on Twitter seem to think that Spiderman's exit from MCU is a result of corporate greed and nothing else.

They hate Sony

Sony is the biggest villain; bigger than Thanos and Mysterio and Hela and all the rest.

This analogy

This analogy takes recent Spiderman movie names to a logical conclusion.

Fans are distraught

The last avengers’ movie saw the exit of Ironman and Captain America – not Spidey too, lamented the tweeple.

Online pushback

A lot of people felt that online campaigns could save their beloved Spidey from the axe. So they did whatever they had to.

Invoking Stan Lee

This is not what Stan Lee would have wanted, think fans.

How dare you!

Give Spiderman back demanded fans.

The wrath of the fans

Fans are promising a revolt --- of some sort.

Some understood

A company has every right to look after their profits, felt some.

Does it even make economic sense?

The whole bringing superheroes together think is tremendously heartening and makes fans feel all warm and fuzzy. Taking that away will negatively impact profits – don’t they get it – asked the tweeple.

Don’t care!

Some blamed both Disney and Sony, others that that Disney was more to blame.

Some seemed happy

Maybe there is a small minority of fans who don’t like the group-superhero-scene? Well they are beneath contempt in number. Right now the MCU fans appear to be indulging in an orgy of grieving – I suppose they’ll get over it soon enough.
