The Play Station 2, commonly labelled as being the greatest gaming console ever made, is now officially dead. If you haven’t been living under a rock then you would know that Sony took the legendary PS2 offline on April 1st, 2016. So, to honour the gaming console that reigned supreme for almost a decade, here are the top 5 PS2 games which we will never forget.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
This is the highest selling game for the PS2, with more than 17 million copies sold till date. Almost everyone who has owned a PS2 has, at some point or the other, spent entire nights following CJ on his missions in this amazing game.
Shadow of the Colossus
This action adventure game has always had us on our toes, making us defeat each and every giant and monstrous colossus one by one.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
I’m sure that Metal Gear fans would remember that feeling of moving their player (snake) undetected in a hostile Soviet Union rainforest. All we wanted to do was pass enemy lines safely.
God of War
God of War is among the best selling PS2 game of all time. Released around 10 years ago, this action adventure game has always been a delight to play, beating all those dark world creatures.
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy
This is perhaps an all time fan favourite game. Released in 2001, it was the first game in the Jak and Daxter series. Though many wouldn’t know this, but it took 24 months and $14 million to develop this game, just so players could stop and defeat the antagonists Gol and Maia from flooding the world with Dark Eco.
