There are few things a movie buff enjoys more than the promise of great upcoming movies/series. That is the reason we all love watching trailers before the feature film, and why we watch trailers closely so as not to miss any clues of things to come. Here are some recent trailers, including popular franchises that you can look forward to: Angry Birds 2, Frozen 2, Arjun Patiala, Doctor Sleep, Stranger Things 3, Pennyworth, Khandaani Shafakhana:
Where there is a game, there is a movie. Where there is (even a moderate) success, there is a sequel. So we are to have the second edition of the movie based on the hugely popular mobile game. In Angry Birds Movie 2 we see the irate feathered friends and the malevolent swine still at loggerheads. However, this time there is a threat to both the pigs and the birds, so the two sides team up to save their islands and the world, by the way. The movie is in theatres on 14th August.
The first trailer released way back in February and we now have a new Frozen 2 trailer. This trailer hints at Elsa, Anna and Kristoff journeying to try and find out the origin of Elsa's powers. This will be a dark movie as the earlier trailer told us; and will feature mythical creatures and symbolism. Apparently, they travel north to mysterious lands with all kinds of magical creatures. All will be revealed on 22 November.
Remember Jack Nicholson's iconic horror film from 1980, The Shining? Doctor Sleep picks up the story 40 years on and is also based on a Stephen King novel. That little kid on a tricycle in The Shining grew up to be the character played by Ewan McGregor, i.e. Danny Torrance. The troubled Torrance is still living with the horror of his childhood and then comes across Abra, a teen who shares his ‘extrasensory’ power.
This is the third season of the popular Netflix sci-fi horror series. The third season follows the dynamic of the group as it tries to stay together while dealing with and surviving the evil around them. The friends must remember that friendship is stronger than fear.
What is the next best thing to a superhero movie? A spinoff series about a lesser character? Perhaps. The series creators are banking on the presumption that Batman fans will like anything to do with their fave super; even a story about his butler. So this one is set in the past; when Pennyworth is shown as being in the army and then going into business with Thomas Wayne (Batman's dad) to form a security agency in 1960s London.
This is a ‘policewali’ film and the trailer seems to make fun of the movie. Starring Diljit Dosanjh, Kriti Sanon and Varun Sharma and ‘dher saare villain’, this quirky film takes the piss out of the typical Bollywood police film. The movie releases on 26 July and promises to be a fun, quirky ride.
This one seems to be a brave attempt at trying to remove the layers of secrecy that typically shrouds sex and everything related to sex in India. Starring Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Sharma and rapper Badshah, this (releasing on 26th July) seems promising.
