Happy Teachers Day Said the Tweeple – With Hilarious & Inspiring Memes

5 September is the birth anniversary of Dr S Radhakrishnan, first vice-president of India and the second president of the country. One of India’s most beloved educations, his birthday is celebrated as is Teachers Day in India. This teacher’s day has been different from those before 2020, with some schools having reopened and others still being shut.  However, this did not stop the tweeple from making these Teacher’s Day memes:

Respect

We all probably had teachers that we didn’t like, but also perhaps teachers that we remember fondly as life-altering and inspiring.

Inspiring stories

People shared inspiring stories such as these on the occasion.

When life is a lifelong education

We don’t just learn from our teachers – we learn from everyone. And maybe it’s a good idea to remain humble enough to learn from everyone.

Just… thanks!

People tweeted to say Thanks to teachers – present and past.

Teachers!

Many people owe their success to guides, coaches and mentors – all teachers by another name.

Or professor

This Professor in particular.

Also teachers

Education apps, Google, Wikipedia are also teachers.

When pen sales go up

The one thing that kids think of giving as a present to their teacher is pens! Stationery stores do good business and teachers end up with more pens than they know what to do with.

This happens

Sometimes those pens are gifted with an ulterior motive – and therefore doomed to yield ‘poor results’.

It’s different

Teachers Day fell on Sunday this year – but for a lot of people, it made no difference with schools and colleges still being shut in many parts of the country.

Date that is immortalised

This date was an important plot point in the movie 3 Idiots.

Memories of school

The tweeple shared some good, some not-so-good memories of school.

Yet another teacher

COVID has taught us a lot too.

When school is a privilege

Yes, education is life-altering and really the only thing that can help uplift people socially and economically. But for some of us, school may never be a possibility; the only ‘teacher’ being life itself.
