Canada’s 23rd Prime Minister has shot into the limelight for many of the best reasons. Justin Trudeau is making headlines and has become the darling of the world press and the chatterati. Let’s look at some of the reasons why the world loves to love Justin Trudeau:
He is good looking
Let’s just get that out of the way – he looks like someone they would cast in a Hollywood movie (am I the only one who thinks he looks like Matthew Maccoughney ?). He is young, good looking and athletic and has women (and men of course) swooning in the aisles.
And when we say athletic, he beats our man Putin
World Politics’ macho man Vladimir Putin would be put to shame by that little demo, wouldn’t you say?
He has a sense of humour

That YouTube video is a campaign ad that takes a fun look at politics and has no problem poking fun at the electoral front runner’s good looks. Highly refreshing in world of politics where almost everyone takes themselves way too seriously!
Half his cabinet consists of women
His cabinet, constituted in November last year has as many women as it has men – 15 of each, ethnically diverse and most aged less than 50.
He can do this
Clearly his PR is awesome. Even if one dismisses some of his persona as clever window dressing, balancing a super cute baby in the palm of your hand is no mean feat! After all the father of three has had practice.

The guy can shake a leg. Or two! While we may be left wondering at what precise dance style this is, we cannot fault the man on his enthusiasm!
He’s really with-it in a lot of other ways too
He has spoken quite frankly about having used banned substances and also supports the legalization of some substances such as marijuana.
He has THAT tattoo
He is just that cool, apparently! Not common among politicians.
He sent a gay man a Valentine’s Day Card
Degas Sikorski was being targeted by a homophobic coworker for being openly gay. In his message to Sikorski, Trudeau said, “Know that your friends outnumber the haters by millions, and I am one of your friends.”
He is also a romantic
He knew right away that she was the one for him and at the end of their first date, he told his wife-to-be, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau “I’m 31 years old, and I’ve been waiting for you for 31 years.”
