According to Shweta Rohira, Pulkit's ex-wife, Yami and Pulkit met for the first time while shooting for a music video and he didn't even talk to her then.
As per Shweta, 'In Sanam Re, initially, another girl (a friend of mine) was considered, but at the last minute it fell through and Yami came on board'.
Infact, it was Shweta who wanted Pulkit to do the film. She said 'I had loved the story and had full faith in Divya (Kumar, director), so I insisted that Pulkit do the film'.
