Since she never thought of joining the film industry, she didn't care much about her weight. Things changed when she was offered the lead role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film, 'Saawariya' and that was the start of a strict workout regimen and a healthy diet plan.
She followed a strict diet plan and opted for power yoga, swimming, cardio, pilates and Kathak, all of this was over and above her regular exercise. The result was she lost 35 kgs in just one year!
She's most thankful to her mother & said, 'In all fairness, it was my mother who helped me get rid of my excess weight. The first thing she did was to keep me off the stuff I was so fond of as a teenager – chocolates, ice creams, fried foods, & sweets'.
