After Chaiwala, This Chaiwalli is Trending on Internet

After Pakistani Chalwala, this Indian-Australian woman, Uppma Virdi who is also popular as ‘Chaiwalli’ is trending all over the news from the past few days.

Last week, this 26-year-old legal professional, was crowned as Business Woman of the Year at the 2016 Indian Australian Business and Community Awards in Sydney.

She runs a successful retail venture with a name of "Chai Walli", which was started as an online shop and a wholesaler to a handful of local stores.

Now her tea-making business has grown exponentially, for which she was awarded as the Business Woman of the Year. According to her, "My real aim is to educate the Australian society about the Indian culture through tea". 

Now, she supplies to many gourmet supermarkets, health food stores, cafes, restaurants and yoga centres in Australia. She is also conducting "The Art of Chai" workshops to teach people how to make that magic cup of tea.

She told the media that "My parents and family were totally against it.. they said I was a lawyer, why did I want to be a tea seller? I said I wanted to show that tea sellers can do something".
