The film starring Ajay Devgan in the leading role, is inspired by the real life income-tax raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department. The film was made with a budget of Rs.72 crores and managed to earn Rs.142.81 crores with some positive reviews from the critics. They made a profit of 98.3%.
The movie which created a lot of buzz in the industry, came out as a huge success for director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and its leading actors Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor. This movie was made with a budget of Rs 215 crores and managed to join the 500 crore club at the box office. In total, the movie earned around Rs. 585 crores, making a profit of 172% approx.
