Recently released, 'Dangal' broke many records at the box office and is an inspirational real-life based story of former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters. This movie was outstanding and had some of the best performances we have seen in the last few years but none of these actors were on the award list.
Another actor who we expected to be on this list along with Aamir Khan is Fatima Sana Shaikh. She fit the role of Geeta Phogat so well that it was difficult to believe that she's only acting and is not the real Geeta. Unfortunately, even she was not on this list.
His brilliant performance in Aligarh was praised by all. He received very good reviews for his role of a professor at Aligarh Muslim University, who was sacked from his position due to his sexual orientation. The popular awards ignored him also, we think he atleast deserved a nomination for Best Actor - Male.
This film was one of the most under-rated movies of 2016, which had Akshay Kumar in the lead role. His performance in this movie was truely inspirational and was very heart touching. He definately deserves a place in the nomination list.
We all know about his dedication for the role and no doubt he delivered it with all his heart. But, organisers think Aishwarya’s performance was far better, and so she gets nominated while he got ignored completely.
The movie starring Amitabh Bachchan raised a very critical cause and was appreciated by both the audience and the critics. For this film we saw Amitabh Bachchan getting an award for best actor but Taapsee was no where in the frame. Her performance was equally powerful and effective, she too should have been nominated.
