10 Most Expensive Beers in The World

1. Space Barley by Sapporo

This beer was brewed by Japanese and Russian scientists in 2006. It was made by the seeds of the barley which were kept in the International Space Station for five months. Although it was a part of their research but results were so good that they went on to brew the barley to make this beer. It was sold at $110.

2. Ambassador Reserve by Crown

It is an alternative to wine and packaged like a champagne, which makes it so special. It usually sells on eBay at $200-300, but some bottles have been auctioned for $800.

3. Tutankhamun Ale

The beer was developed by Cambridge researchers and Scottish breweries. In 1990 researchers unearthed Queen Nefertiti's Royal Brewery and found traces of ancient beer residue which was a 3,250-year-old recipe. The first bottle was sold out for $7,686 but later the price went down to $75 for a 500ml bottle.

4. Sink The Bismarck! by BrewDog

The beer was released in 2010 by BrewDog, with 41% ABV. This is four times as bitter as a normal beer and as strong. It cost around $80 for a 375ml bottle.

5. Utopias by Samuel Adams

The beer comes in ceramic bottles that look like a copper finished brewing kettles. It was first produced in 2002 with an ABV of 24%, later ABV was increased to 27%. Now every year, a limited number of bottles are released which cost around $150 for a 700ml bottle.

6. Schorschbock 57 by Schorschbräu

This beer is said to be the strongest beer in the world, released in 2011 with 57% ABV. There were only 36 bottles of the Schorschbräu Schorschbock 57 were ever made which cost around $275 for a 330ml bottle.

7. Jacobsen Vintage by Carlsberg

It comes with the flavors of vanilla and cocoa and has an expiration date till 2059. Jacobsen Vintage by Carlsberg was a beer trilogy made from the finest caramel and hops. It is priced at $400 for a 375ml bottle.

8. The End of History by BrewDog

This is a 55% ABV freeze-distilled beer produced by BrewDog with the bottles packaged in small stuffed animals. There were only 12 bottles produced, each made out of stuffed barnyard critters which cost around $765 for a 330ml bottle.

Pabst Blue Ribbon 1844 was released by China for consumption in the domestic market. Although Pabst is an American company but it has a joint venture arrangement with China Pabst Blue Ribbon. The bottle is priced at $44 for 750ml, which is 44 times more expensive that Pabst beers in the USA.

10. Antarctic Nail Ale by Nail Brewing

It is a limited-edition ale, which is made with water melted from a block of Antarctic ice. There were 30 such bottles released and one bottle sold was for $800 in an auction. Later the price went for $1,850, which made it one of the most expensive beers in the world.
