Compared to the hundreds of TV channels we have today, those Doordarshan days with just one or two TV channels were a wilderness of TV programming marred by terrible reception, poor quality shows and frequent interruptions by that colourfully striped screen that said Sorry for the Interruption (रूकावट के लिए खेद है) one of the most frequently aired Doordarshan ‘shows’. And yet there is nostalgia for that time and there are some videos and snatches of music that we enjoy even today:
