ANI reported that a man from Assam claims to have created a theft-proof e-bike or electric cycle. It is a high tech solution involving the phone and an alarm app that can be controlled from anywhere in the world. While this sounds like a good idea, there were those who weren't sure something like this would work.
Karimganj's Samrat Nath has created an anti-theft device for this bike. This is a 19-year-old Assam student who has always been interested in creating such solutions.
Any theft attempt will result in the owner getting an alert on his phone. This can be installed on any bike.
OK, so the owner receives an alert. What then, asks this commentator. The young inventor has thought about this since the anti-theft device also has tracking tech that will help to locate the thief.
What if someone doesn’t try to unlock or ride the bike; simply puts it into some other vehicle and takes off?
What if the thief is smart enough to steal the owner’s phone as well? What if the owner is stupid enough to leave their phone in the vehicle (most of us have been guilty of this stupidity from time to time, right?)
They were impressed with the innovative solution that the man had thought up.
They thought this was a limited kind of solution that didn’t make a lot of sense.
Some people had the view that this is not a new idea, but something that companies have tried to implement before as well; but without much success.
This guy is worried not about thieves but about arsonists – why would someone just want to go around burning bikes is not clear
He hasn’t just made the anti-theft device. Samrat Nath has also built the e-bike itself which is equipped with a fingerprint sensor to start it. He also has other inventions to his credit. Full charge in three hours and a range of 60 km – sounds great to me! The alarm is annoying enough to attract attention – seems to be a workable solution for the times.
