Staying Indoors? Good, Maybe These Gadgets Will Help

While it sounds simple, staying indoors and not doing what you're used to doing on a daily basis can be difficult. Some of us feel a yearning to get out of doors – simply because this is a habit. Some of these gadgets may just help you feel a little better about being indoors – giving you something to do, making your day a bit easier and keeping you safe:

Smart band

I've been using the OnePlus smart band for about a month now and I find it to be most useful. It tracks my sleep, amount of activity, heart rate, O2 levels, has a timer, stopwatch and even measured the distance I cycle each day (not doing that anymore, I'm staying put indoors).  It needs charging once in 10-12 days or so, is really easy to operate and works seamlessly with the mobile app. Highly recommend it.

Exercise cycle

If there is one thing I miss these days it is my hour-long bike ride each evening with some good music or a quality podcast. An indoor exercycle would be the next best. Some of these come with an adjustable seat, monitors, adjustable resistance and also function as a cross-trainer. This is on my shopping list now.

Air purifier

Pollutants, allergens, dust and other suspended particles in the air cause disease and polluted air is thought to lessen our life span by years. With a pandemic on, an in-home air purifier can make even more sense.

Noise cancellation headphones

Working from home is the order of the day, but then so is school from home. There are a hundred things in the home that make noise and distract. So it may be a good idea to use a noise cancelling headset with a mic for those zoom meetings online classes and so on. Not only do these cut out external noise, but they also help one hear properly so one doesn’t miss out on the lesson/meeting.

Smart monitor

A smart monitor has mobile connectivity along with PC experience. It can be used for video conferencing, streaming from Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime and other services, remote access, ultra-wide game view. The built-in sensor adjusts the picture to the ambient light.

Robot vacuum and smart mop

Some of us may have requested our domestic help not to come to work for the time being. In that case, this gadget will become your BFF quickly. The robot vacuum and mop can be scheduled to clean multiple rooms of the house at a set time while avoiding obstacles. This gizmo comes with a water tank to clean the floor thoroughly.

Coffee maker

For me the smell of freshly brewed coffee is one of the most heavenly smells in the world – the main reason I am tempted to go into a Starbucks and pay for their overpriced products.  If I can’t go to Starbucks I can at least recreate some of the coffee magic at home. This is one of the gadgets one could think of buying to make the at-home experience a little more enjoyable.
