Portable Gadgets to Make Life and Travel Simpler

Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a carry-along bottle that cleaned water and made it fit for drinking? Or some sort of device that would help us find the keys that we seem to mislay all the time? Well turns out there are people who have already thought about creating gadgets and devices that we need or will need at some point in the future. Here are some portable lifestyle gadgets to make life simpler:

Water purifier bottle

This vacuum-insulated bottle has a UV treatment mechanism that purifies water on the go. Questionable tap water, water from a water fountain or even a stream is sterilised and purified; made safe for drinking. Saves you the hassle and expense of buying water when out or while travelling. Goes a full week on one charge!

Key finder

This smart tracker can be attached to all sorts of things and then connected to a mobile app to locate it. There is a two-way search option to locate phone, keys, bags, etc. This item also lets you take pictures remotely.

Pocket language translator

This is useful for those foreign business trips or the exotic holiday abroad; facilitating easy communication with locals or people you don’t have a language in common with. It supports 138 languages including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian etc., records voice, has a camera photo translation feature and also works as a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Mini Bluetooth speaker

At just 3 cm in height, this one click speaker has a built-in mic and neatly fits into any small bag or even a pocket. It can even be attached to a keyring, can be used as a remote shutter and to take hands-free calls.

Portable Wi-Fi hotspot

This little device has space for a micro SD card, just plug and pay to connect to the internet on any Wi-Fi capable device. It can connect to up to 10 devices including phones, laptops, tablets and even smart TVs.

Adapter for PC

I bought this when wiring issues made it impossible for me to connect the internet cable router to my PC. Since my PC doesn’t have Bluetooth I needed some device that could create a wireless connection between my PC and the internet (or when the internet is down and I have to use my phone hotspot). This is also useful if you're travelling, need to use another laptop or computer and want to use your phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Action camera

When it is absolutely essential to film something but it is also essential to keep your hands free and to not look at a screen, this one is vital. The tiny GoPro camera can be mounted on to a handheld stick or to a headband – ideal for when driving or travelling on a two wheeler. I don’t know about you, but the idea of using all these gadgets makes me want to travel.
