Bill Gates Was Ridiculed For Recommending Internet – Check Out Video Elon Musk Shared

He obviously was able to predict tech trends from very early on... Bill Gates knew what we wanted before we knew we wanted it and gave us Windows. However back in 1995 when Gates was on the Letterman show, he was mocked for saying how the internet was wonderful. Elon Musk shared the video. Take a look.

Bill Gates on David Letterman

Gates explains why the internet is going to be a wonderful resource and Letterman mocks him by saying ‘ever heard of radio’ and ‘ever heard of tape recorder’. This is nothing new, implied Letterman

Web 3

Much is said and conjectured about Web3 right now. Web1 was about static websites right in the beginning. Web2 was about interactive websites starting at the turn of the century and new-age internet or Web3 is now what has people excited.

The future of business

Gates certainly could foresee the future of tech… and the future of trade and business.

Futuristic thinking

20 years ago, how many of us would have predicted being able to carry around in our pockets a whole world of on-demand entertainment and multiple sources of communication?

There was a lot of skepticism

This was a view many had back in the day.

Next 40 years

The internet has changed how the world works, studies, consumes entertainment, communicates, and socially interacts in just 20 years or so. What will the next few decades bring?

This was very prescient

David Bowie was a musician and not a techie but his words here about the potential of the internet to be both exhilarating and terrifying turned out to be very accurate.

The dark web

The dark web is a reality as well. Data farms are real. Governments spying on citizens and companies paying to manipulate buying choices are all reality.

Also true

The internet is used for some brilliant things – also for some very stupid things.

This prediction

Esport or the world of professional gaming is set to really take off as well. Looking at teens today this seems true – for them, gamers mean the same as sportspersons used to mean to older generations.

It’s a good time to be alive

We live in the most progressive, enlightened, peaceful and prosperous of times today; better, more egalitarian and more equal than at any time in human history.

Next is what

Technology has made things easier, more comfortable and convenient for us in so many different ways. It will certainly be interesting to see what the future holds – Bill Gates’ prediction about the internet was accurate. But history has shown us that humans are better at creating technology than predicting it… mostly.
