With Narsingh Yadav being prohibited from the Rio Olympic squad post the doping disaster, the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has sent an official solicitation to United World Wrestling (UWW) to switch him with Parveen Kumar Rana. This comes as a noteworthy stun for two time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar, who was being touted as his replacement.

His turn now.

No more the dream.

Though Sushil Kumar must have been baffled, it came as a big surprise for Praveen Kumar Rana. In fact, Rana was the one who was defeated by Yadav during the selection process of the Olympics. Now, it makes total sense that if the best is not available, then the second best has to go.

Did you know these things about Rana?
