The final match of the ICC T20 Women's Cricket World Cup in Australia seemed to have been scheduled to have the finals coincide with International Women's Day. During this tournament, Shafali Verma topped the ICC ratings for T20 matches – at just 16 years of age.
While there were those who were busy labelling the squad as chokers and so on, most people saw this as what it was – a bad day at the office. There is no denying that the women in blue outclassed their opponents in most of their matches – including the champions Australia in their first match of the ICC T20 Women's World Cup.
