The Burj Al Arab is an iconic landmark in Dubai UAE. Not only it is one of the most luxurious hotels in the world, but it is also something that defines the city's skyline. Now the landmark was witness to something truly extraordinary. BMX rider Kriss Kyle performed an incredible stunt on top of the tower as well as some of Dubai's other iconic landmarks:
The 26 year old was born in Scotland in Dumbarton and started his BMX career in 2008 – BMX street, BMX park, BMX Dirt.
He had seen it only on TV, but he thought Dubai looked like an incredible, high-end place. He loved the fact that it is so clean and beautiful. He was impressed by the place, but also by the fact that the UAE is right in the middle of the desert; the sort of place he is not used to.
Quite incredibly the man who jumped out of a chopper on a bike on to the top of a 300 mt+ building is scared of heights. When he first visited the Burj, he said 'Yeah, I'd love to jump out of a helicopter', as a joke.
When the email confirming his jump arrived, he wondered what he had got himself into. He psyched himself however and told himself that he would do this, no matter what. He claims to have been terrified during his practice jump. He had to factor in the wind and the length of the ramp and much else besides when doing the planning.
The Burj Al Arab wasn’t the only Dubai landmark that the BMX expert showed off his abilities on. He also had a go at the slides in the Water Park, Laguna and more.
