Shivaay Trailer Releases To Much Acclaim

Our currently increased interest in India's ancient history and mythology, as evidenced by the sky rocketing sales of books by Amish Tripathi, Devdutt Pattanaik and others has also reflected in the kind of movies that are currently being made. The evocatively named Shivaay, starring Ajay Devgn is one example of this. The recently released trailer of Shivaay promises a fast paced action thriller that also seems to touch on divine and mythological themes. So will you be watching Shivaay when it releases this Diwali? Check out these reasons why Shivaay seems promising and decide for youself:

So if you're not fully convinced, here is the trailer to help you make up your mind.

Ajay Devgn’s intensity

Though he has done his share of mindless comedies in the recent past, he has also reinvented himself at the angry/intense not-so-young man in a number of his films. The brooding, passionate Ajay Devgn seems much in evidence in the trailer of Shivaay.

The locales

From the trailer, it appears that the movie has been shot extensively in rugged mountainous terrain in foreign locations such as Bulgaria with some breathtaking photography which should be interesting to watch.

Interesting cast

We will see Ajay Devgan in the title role, debutant Sayyeshaa Saigal as Sati and standup comic Vir Das, Bijou Thaangjam as well as Polish actress Erika Kaar in the film. The story features British child actor Abigail Eames who will play Devgn’s daughter in the film.

A must watch for Devgn fans

The movie not only stars Ajay Devgn, it is also directed by him and produced by him.

Devgn to sing?

The news is that he will also be lending his voice to the music of the film. The voicing of the trailer is done by him as well.

The action

The film promises to be fast paced and action oriented. Reportedly there are quite a few daring stunts that Devgn himself performed for the film.

The story

The twin themes of a modern action drama coupled with a divine theme/ mythological track seems very intriguing. The film is billed as Shivaay – the destroyer a clear reference to Shiva in the holy trinity of the Brahma-Vishnu-Mahesh or the creator, preserver and destroyer.
