Shriyans Bhandari and Ramesh Dhami wore out lots of shoes as athletes and had this idea: GreenSole is a green initiative where you can donate shoes. These are then recycled into new shoes. They are taken apart and repurposed into a reconstituted new pair. You can donate your old shoes and buy from here as well.
Donate blood when you can and receive blood when you need it. Indianblooddonors.com is a portal that connects blood donors with those in need of blood donations. The service was founded in 1999 by Khushroo & Fermin Poacha when they experienced how lack of blood can cause deaths. Download the app to your phone.
You can donate clothes, linen, toys, shoes, chappals and anything you don’t need any more to Indiaactivities.com. Even bags, blankets, stationery, mobile phones, appliances etc are welcome. Donated items are repaired and then transported to rural distribution centres, city slums, orphanages, homeless shelters etc. It is also possible to donate excess food (leftover from parties, restaurants, wedding receptions etc). The autistic, those with Asperger's Syndrome and others who have various physical and mental handicaps find place here. It was the dream of a special boy whose dream it was to have a bakery and it was brought to fruition via Sai Bakery. Special people come here, pray, do yoga, eat and work together here. The idea is to create awareness and sensitivity for people with special needs and also help generate an income for them.
