The harpy eagle is a really strange animal – for one it is massive. And it looks really, really weird. I am sure it is a wonderful and beautiful sight for bird lovers; as for me, it is the stuff of nightmares. People on social media seem to agree with that point of view.
This creature is largely extinct in its natural environment – which is central, and South America; the rain forests. It is very rare indeed. Small wonder that most of us are so unfamiliar with it as to think it is a figment of someone’s imagination.
That is one big bird. And I don’t mean that in a non-nightmarish sense.
The creature looks like it belongs in a fantasy film, feel some. This commentator was reminded of Buckbeak, pet of Hagrid in the Harry Potter stories.
If ever a bird looked like it didn’t really like a human and would prefer to make a meal out of them, this is it!
…Is not reassuring.
More precisely it looks like the Night King from GoT, feels this commentator. Isn’t that just another way of saying that bird is scary as hell?
Some thought that the bird looked serious and goofy at the same time. Whatever, it would not want to see that up close.
Some thought that this was just nature's way of getting everyone into the Halloween mood; others just wanted to never, ever have seen that again.
You cannot!
