Snowing Chocolate? This Is A Lot of People's Dream Come True

I'm picky about chocolate – my favourite brand of chocolate is Lindor from Lindt, the Swiss chocolate manufacturer. So obviously this story about Lindt caught the eye: there was some problem at the Olten factory which caused what is now being called a ‘chocolate snowfall’. I cannot think of a better ‘disaster’ – can you?

This announcement

The Swiss embassy in the UK made this announcement. The malfunctioning ventilation system in the Lindt factory resulted in fine cocoa powder to snow down on the surrounding areas.

Cocoa rain

“Cocoa rain in the Olten industrial quarter: the ventilation system is to blame,” says this tweet.

Like this?

This is how some people imagined the ‘chocolate rain’ to be, reality would have been a bit different though.

Some were envious

Chocolate rain/snow sounds like every chocolate lover’s dream.

Some were inspired

They decided to head to the Lindt store. I would too if there was one in my vicinity.

Some…

…Offered to clean up.

Because Lindt!

Many would agree with me; Lindt produces some of the finest chocolates in the world.

I want!

How about sending some of that my way, this Twitter user seems to ask.

This fantasy

This is clearly someone who likes marshmallows in their hot chocolate.

Boost to tourism

Some thought that an incident like this could give a boost to tourism.

Inevitable!

I suppose a few Charlie & the Chocolate Factory jokes were only to be expected.

Reality check

Unsweetened cocoa is fairly bitter and tastes nothing like the chocolate we love, points out this tweet.

Possible fallout

Chocolate attracts ants says this tweet. And all that falling stuff could cause quite a mess, felt others.  The authorities however assured everyone that there would be no health or environmental problems as a result of the chocolate snowfall.

Could have been worse

If this had happened in a chemical factory, the results would have been a lot worse, points out this tweet.  As it was this was just a cocoa snowfall --- it was one of the things that attracted only positivity, very little of the negativity that Twitter is known for.
