I get it – flight safety announcements are necessary. Unfortunately, they are repetitive and highly boring as well. Some flight attendants do however try to make things a little entertaining or interesting in various different ways: some have hilarious spiels, others rap out the flight safety instructions. I’d love to be regaled like this the next time I fly!
South West Airline has a tradition of rapping it out. Here the flight attendant starts out with a little speech, asks everyone to stomp and clap and then gets down to the instructions to fasten the seatbelt etc. etc. Then there is applause and he ends with a little quip against the competition.
SWA is still doing the rap it would seem! The passenger who recorded this video evidently really enjoyed it; joining in enthusiastically with the stomping and clapping and cheering.
Well, not quite. She is speaking as usual but everything else? Not so much. Watch this funny video to know about what is allowed and not allowed.
He has a strange green headpiece and he proceeds to tell us that his ‘ex-wife’ and her two boyfriends will be doing the announcements. He clarifies that the life vest is not a toilet seat and further that if someone doesn’t like the jokes or the service – passengers are free to use any of the plane exits without the reentry option.
Clearly this flight attendant also believes that he missed his chance as a standup comic. He clarifies that there are no parachutes provided and mentions that there is no smoking allowed on the flight – except for smoking hot people.
It’s a sort of audition for people looking for a job making safety announcements. The video is very funny (it ends with the inimitable Rowan Atkinson) and also gets the celebs to endorse a good cause.
