Part Two of the Saga of Quaden, the Little Bullied Boy with Dwarfism

The story of Quaden Bayles had travelled around the world, with many celebrities expressing their solidarity with the little bullied nine-year-old boy. The video of the little boy with a form of dwarfism crying and wanting his life to end because of bullying had gone viral a few days ago. People from all over the world expressed their support and sympathy. Comic Brad Williams, who also has a form of dwarfism started out to raise $10,000 to send Quaden to Disneyland and ended up raising over $466k. This is what happened next:

Raising awareness

The little boy is obviously distraught and his mother posted this now-famous video to call attention to the potential impacts of bullying.

Love and support poured in

Celebrities and regular people alike expressed their love and support for little Quaden and what the family would undoubtedly be going through.

There was criticism

Quaden and his family received a lot of suspicion and criticism and disbelief. There were those who claimed that the little boy is actually an 18 year old actor and that this family is scamming people for money.

This was cleared up

Little Quaden is indeed nine years old. The fact that the little boy appears happy in some of this social media pictures absolutely doesn’t mean that the boy wasn’t bullied and in distress.

Clearing up some misconceptions

Many social media users rallied around Quaden and his family and clarified a few facts such as that it wasn’t his family that started the GoFundMe account for him.

The irony

People posted other instances of bullying and its terrible impacts on kids in particular. They also pointed out the irony of the fact that his mother calling for awareness on bullying had actually subjected Quaden and his family to even more bullying.

Good things happened for him

As a fan of sport, Quaden had the honour of leading out the all-star rugby team of Australia.

“Spread love”

For those with some empathy for the ordeal that the little child with dwarfism routinely goes through, this was a cause for cheer.

This large-hearted gesture

Comic Brad Williams’ efforts managed to raise nearly half a million dollars for Quaden and his family to go to Disneyland. In a gesture of magnanimity, the family declined to use the money for that stated purpose.

Issue at hand

Quaden Bayles’ aunt explains why the family decided to donate the money to charities that work to tackle childhood suicide and bullying --- because the issue was bullying, not Disneyland.
