When I first used Windows and explored its many functions, I was simply amazed. I remember thinking – this is to typewriting what a space rocket is to a bullock cart. I am using Windows as I type this so Windows is pretty central to my life and to billions out there. A new update is therefore exciting – for some good, some bad reasons. They announced Windows 11 and this is how people reacted:
Create, connect, play, they said. There is much that promises to be new with Windows 11; the platform's biggest change in over five years.
People are excited about the new features and gamers in particular seem pleased that their requirements are kept in mind.
Yes, we do! Whether we were using the genuine or the pirated version of Windows, we remember a CD like this that installed the program on our computers.
Out with the old?
This goes back further in time.
People are really looking forward to this feature.
People are excited about this. It is expected that the new upgrade will support games and apps such as Instagram, TikTok and so on.
…Widgets! Widgets are important.
Hardware compatibility could be an issue for some. Windows 11 needs 4 GB AM, 64GB storage device, I GHz with 2 or more cores, secure boot capability, some graphics card and has some basic display requirements.
Are not pleased.
People are wondering whether hardware upgrades will be required for Windows 11.
Those whose business is to provide cross-platform products (such as BlueStacks) which enable the running of Android apps on Windows may be in trouble.
The announcement has received largely favourable responses.
Many gamers are going to be happy about this.
Apple and iOS users don’t care or understand what’s going on.
Apple users think this, Android users know this.
They have a lot of updating to do – some of us don’t want to upgrade either because we don’t like change or because of the why-fix-what-aint-broke attitude.
Yes, it will be beautiful – but will it have a consistent user interface? People like me are going to worry.
Will the changes be largely cosmetic? Right now there is much that we don’t know about Windows 11. I'm sure the memes will keep us updated.
