Making Five Sketches Simultaneously? Check Out the Video

I have the greatest respect for artists – partly because I am such a terrible artist myself and partly because the process of creation itself is fascinating. I find it amazing enough that people can create sketches that can be identified as human (because I never could) but as specific humans. And now there is this artist who can make 5 sketches at the same time! The video is viral – but some of the tweeple are not convinced.

Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman (looks nothing like Jasan Momoa, but who else could this be), Flash – all in a flash! This is of course a time-lapse video.

The reply said – art tends to have that effect on people. But this isn't just art, it is some amazing physical dexterity.

It does look amazing, no doubt. No wonder the video has nearly a million views.

People like this – and me – can barely draw a straight line; certainly not 5 lines simultaneously.

Some of us cannot manage to do two things at a time – even simple things like walking and chewing gum.

…Or witchcraft depending upon what one finds believable.

I, who cannot draw a snowman, am full of amazement at such talent.

Cannot draw to save our lives.

Doing five sketches of such different faces simultaneously does look rather difficult to believe.

It is difficult to believe that someone can create five drawings like this all at once.

The video is sped up, which is why we cannot tell when the artist if focusing on one drawing and the next and so on. It is the long stick connecting each of the 5 pens/pencils and the time-lapse feature that give the illusion of all the drawings being done at the same time.

It may seem as though the artist is drawing all five all at once. But even if that weren't true, even if he is doing them one after the other, this is still a very difficult thing to accomplish. So if that video of doing five drawings at the same time has people fascinated, it is with good reason.
