Dubai Airport – Then and Now

Dubai airport today is among the busiest in the world; a hub of international flights that connect various different parts of the world because the strategic location of the city at the confluence of West and East. However it had humble beginnings. An Emirates Airline tweet recently demonstrated the stark contrast between past and present on #ThrowbackThursday.

Busiest in the world

The Dubai airport serviced 90 million passengers last year, making it the busiest airport in the world. When one commentator questioned this claim, the official Atlanta Airport Twitter handle confirmed the fact that Dubai handles the highest number of international passengers in the world though Atlanta is the busiest in the world overall.
