The world seems to be missing the Obamas for several reasons. The previous POTUS presents such a contrast to the current POTUS in terms of erudition, poise, capability, articulation, intelligence and humanity. He also represents a stark contrast in the relationship he seems to have with his wife; a warm, loving and respectful relationship. When he and his wife wished each other a happy wedding anniversary, they gave everyone some serious relationship goals.
They always seem to be a perfect couple. They would have had their ups and downs like any other couple, but what always came across was mutual respect and a sense of enjoyment of each other’s company.
Now I am not much one for wishing my family members anything on social media, but this one made me go ‘Awww!’ My fave part of that message is ‘favorite person to see the world with’. How fortunate to be with someone who is also your favorite person; your best friend whom you want to experience everything with!
Her message thanks him for the ‘love, trust and respect’ that he gives her and speaks about him as who honours women. She thinks of her husband as a treasure.
Inevitably, there were references to the 45th president of the United States; someone who compares unfavorably with his predecessor in practically every possible way!
26 years together and not a hint of scandal! This again, is a stark contrast to the current POTUS; accused of sexual misdemeanours while married to his current wife!
This seemed to be a constant refrain; an emotion that seemed expressed through numerous tweets along with anniversary wishes.
The couple seems to be very inspiring for a lot of people out there. Their dedication to each other, steadfastness and visible affection for each other is something every couple wishes for themselves.
Sure a lot of their pictures are posed and carefully constructed. But this is a couple that seems to genuinely have a good time together. We never see this type of easy affection between the current first couple.
It seems rather obvious that these are two people who continue to love each other even after so many years. People think it’s all rather adorable!
Michele and Barack Obama’s relationship is an inspiration for many – an example of something precious that has endured through years; surviving even the exigencies of being in high office.
