#AppleEvent Launched iPhone 11, So You Know The Kidney-Selling Jokes Are Coming

If any corporation knows how to turn a product launch into an event that the world is interested in, it is Apple. One may say that iPhones are overpriced and all that exclusivity makes sharing difficult; however nothing will change the mind of the diehard Apple brand loyalist. So when the new iPhone was launched at yet another fancy Apple Event, it grabbed eyeballs – even before the event.

#AppleEvent

The 10th September 2019 Apple Event saw the unveiling of iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. At the same time, the iPhone 11 was launched as its new ‘affordable iPhone’ (prices below).

The kidney jokes started

The iPhone is so-expensive-you-have-to-sell-a-kidney type jokes started to circulate well before the event.

Kidney or something else of value

“Sacrifice is called for”… this now-famous, meme-worthy line from Sacred Games is rather apposite.

Triggered

Those with older iPhones are likely to become very agitated. They will long to get their hands on the new phone(s) any which way.

Android users meanwhile

Android users couldn’t care less. They have such a vast array of options that neither Apple products nor their proprietary software means anything to us them.

What’s new?

The new colours, improved camera, spatial sound and prices – the short video tells you most of the relevant details if you're interested.

Minimalism?

The iPhone prides itself on its minimalist design features. Some are not so impressed.

The new phone cameras

This seemed to catch everyone’s attention. Whereas with earlier launches the cordless earphones or airpods seemed to catch everyone's attention, this time around it’s this.

Looks like…

…A fidget spinner!

Or this…

A four-burner stove.

Maybe this?

Built-in shaver says this commentator facetiously.

Ugly!

Some didn’t mince their words – they came straight out with it and said that the new iPhone is ugly.

Also…

The new iPhone is triggering something called trypophobia in some people.

What is trypophobia?

It is defined thus: “Trypophobia is an aversion to the sight of irregular patterns or clusters of small holes, or bumps”

Something…

…Like this.

Can’t un-see that!

Well when you look at that, you have to go ugh! ugh! ugh!

Typophobia or not, there are still going to be plenty of people telling Apple shut up and take my money. The base variant will be about Rs.71,600, iPhone 11 Pro is upward of Rs.99,900 and iPhone 11 Pro Max will retail from Rs.1,09,900 up. The iPhone 11 can be pre-ordered and in India, the deliveries start going out on 27th September.
