One man from Japan found a way to create a truly unique engagement ring – he saved his own nail clippings for a year (ugh!) and fashioned these into a ring. People on social media were, of course, weirded out but this is far from the only weird ring idea around. In fact, there are all sorts of really weird rings available for those who think gold, silver and diamonds are passé.
News of the nail clipping engagement ring caught the fancy of netizens and the news was widely shared. The process of grinding, compressing and setting is demonstrated in this video.
While some were completely grossed out by the idea and said they would reject such a proposal outright, others thought this was an interesting and innovative idea.
The general consensus on the fingernail clipping ring however, was, that this is a pretty disgusting idea. Also; how cheap does a guy have to be to use his own nail clippings instead of getting her a proper diamond, asked the tweeple.
Ouch! Why? That would be one's first thought looking at that ring that is also a bloody meat cleaver.
I for one would not like that beady, unblinking eye staring up at me all of the time.
That is a heart-shaped ring – a real heart! Maybe this shouldn’t seem bizarre, but it just does!
This ring may be a great idea for the beer lover, but think of the impracticality of something like this getting tangled up in anything and everything.
One can celebrate their love for cheeseburgers with a ring like this; however the recipient may take offence – you're eating too much junk food, this ring seems to say.
This is the stuff of nightmares. I am not against snakes or indeed rings fashioned to look like snakes. But a snake with its jaws open to swallow prey --- I draw the line at that.
Those are some cavity ridden, deformed-looking teeth! And if you're excessively weird, this ring is currently available on Etsy.
This one gives a new interpretation to the term finger-ring. It is quite grizzly – unless of course one is trying to give someone the finger --- without actually giving them the finger.
