To Mark India's 70th #IndependenceDay Lets Talk About These 7 Unsung Heroes

The story of our country's independence movement lives in our hearts and we take pride each time we remember our great freedom fighters. We have the #FreedonOfChoice today because of what they did and what they sacrificed. Some names get more attention than others but we owe it to them all to remember them, because their bravery and determination continue to motivate us. 

On India's 70th #IndependenceDay, we present these real life champions, whose lives continue to serve as an inspiration to us. 

Alluri Sita Rama Raju

He hailed as the champion of the Jungles and was popular due to his active participation and leadership during the Rampa Rebellion.

N.G. Ranga

In 1933, the Ryot agitation was led by this hero, who played an extremely important part in the Indian Peasant Movement.

Lakshmi Sahgal

She served the Indian National Army and led India to its freedom with her bravery. She played an important role in the Indian Freedom Movement.

Birsa Munda

Millenarian movement saw the leadership of Birsa Munda, dying for the Independence of his beloved country at a young age of 25.

Khudiram Bose

Indian Independence saw a plethora of heroes and one such was Khudiram Bose, who was hanged to death for his outspoken and rebellious attitude by the British Raj when he was merely 18 years old.

Matangini Hazra

Matangini played an instrumental role in the non-cooperation movement and had a significant role in the Quit India Movement, post which, the British army shot her dead.         

Peer Ali Khan

One can say that he was at the helm of starting the entire Independence movement in the early 1800’s, but his fight was short-lived as he was given capital punishment along with fourteen others.
