Chewang Norphel, an Indian civil engineer who is popularly known as The Ice Man,  created 12 artificial glaciers in the cold and dry region Laddakh as an answer to the water problem of the region.

In 2009 when armed terrorists forced their way into her house, Rukhsana, then 18 not only protected her parents but also killed a Lashkar commander with his own AK-47. Rukhsana was awarded Kirti Chakra for her bravery!

In the year of 1979, Jadav Peyang found a number of snakes dead due to the heat ontreeless land in Jorhat (Assam). The land was washed away by a flood. Moved by the incident, he began planted bamboo trees and dedicated his entire life towards the conservation and ecological development. Today, the 1350 acres of jungle is known as Molai forest and is home of animals such as Royal Bengal Tigers, Deer, Elephants etc.

Dashrath Manjhi, popularly known as The Mountain Man carved a road through a mountain after he failed to get his injured wife to the hospital due to lack of road. He was made famous by the recent movie Manjhi starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
