In this world, there are two types of people – those who love their tea and those who love their coffee. These are usually two distinct groups that derive satisfaction and sustenance from their chosen beverage; to the point that they develop a dependency on it. If you're someone who simply depends upon that cup of coffee (or several) to get through the day, you will identify with these:
Speaking personally, I am not fully human until I've had my cup of strong, ice cold or steaming hot (depending upon the season) coffee every morning. I need it to fully wake up; something that millions of coffee lovers all over the world will identify with.
Like I said, one cannot be fully functional until that shot of caffeine hits the system. After that, it’s all systems go!
There is a direct connection between how perfect that morning cup of coffee was, and how well your day goes. The first sip of that fragrant brew not only wakes one up, it positively uplifts the soul!
There are those who would insist that the only ‘real’ coffee is black coffee; adding cream/milk and sugar destroys the experience. You could call them coffee snobs or you could call them purists – take your pick.
For some coffee lovers out there, it is the very elixir of life; the sustenance that gets them through the day. It is coffee that prevented them from biting off a colleague’s head or giving a sarcastic reply when it was really inappropriate.
It was coffee lovers that created those giant mugs that act as beverage containers and hand warmers all at once. When it comes to coffee it's always make it a large.
It would be nice to get that perfect cup of coffee as soon as I wake up in the morning. And I would take my husband or kids up on their kind offer --- if I had the least faith that they would make my coffee according to my exacting specifications.
That first cup in the morning – and all the additional ones through the day are necessary. Let’s just leave it at that.
I always wondered why no one ever thought to create a perfume that smells like coffee. Sometimes I visit the perfume counters in malls just so I can inhale the aroma of the beans they offer – and I take some too. That aroma of coffee is at least 50% of Starbuck’s success, I am convinced.
This is a simple fact of life, any true coffee lover will tell you.
