These Brands Sound 'Firangi' But Are Totally Indian

The Indian market is massively obsessed with brands and the only thing that makes a brand sell is their name. So here's a list of brands that have totally "firangi" names, but are Indian from its heart and soul! Check them out. 

1. Cafe Coffee Day

Opened at Karnataka in 1996, the company surely exports the coffee beans to USA, Japan, and Europe but is completely Indian. 

2. Royal Enfield

The name of Royal Enfield is surely royal and so is its look. Although the name sounds British, but the company is Indian. Royal Enfield bikes are manufactured in Chennai and are a part of Eicher, which is one of the most famous Indian companies in the heavy-duty vehicle segment.

3. Lakme

Who would have thought that Lakme is an Indian brand, too? A venture of TATA Group, Lakme began producing the cosmetics in 1952.

4. Britannia

Though Britannia sounds a bit too British, but the company with all its heart is an Indian one. The company began manufacturing its biscuits in 1892 in Kolkata. About 38% of the biscuit and the fruitcake market in India, rests with this company.

5. Ferns N Petals

Ferns n Petals which almost sounds French is one of India’s largest flower retailer started by Vikas Gutgutia in Delhi.

6. HDFC Bank

An Indian bank can also have an English abbreviation, but that doesn't mean it should be judged as a foreign bank! Headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, HDFC is a major Housing Development bank in India. 

7. MRF

With Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara and Steve Waugh uses MRF bats, nobody could have guessed that MRF is an Indian brand. MRF is an abbreviation for Madras Rubber Factory, which exports its products to more than 65 countries across the world.
