Love Dogs? You’ll Love This Twitter Trend of Dogs in Blankets

If you know anything about dogs you know that they will often get up to destructive mischief and you also know that they will then be abjectly sorry for their misdemeanours. So when host, editor and ‘pet parent’ Mary Beth posted a picture of her pet Zelda having done some mischief, this really got the ball rolling.

Stuck!

Zelda chewed her way through a very nice blanket so all we can see is a head… one very regretful, ashamed face!

Worth it!

It doesn’t seem as though Zelda was yelled at for her transgressions. If ever I saw a doggie smirk, this is it!

The dog did nothing!

A lot of commentators had theories about why the dog was blameless in all this.

In defence of Zelda

One even suggested that the little doggie was just investigating the hole, not responsible for it.

A fashion statement

A dog in blanket could be considered a fashion statement.

Who wore it better?

In the old days, aristocrats wore some really strange things around their necks. This isn’t all that different.

Other doggies do it too!

A lot of people shared pictures of their own pets being naughty and then apologetic.

Dogs in blankets are adorable!

Pet owners think that their pets look cute doing just about anything and if they're peeping out of blankets, they are even cuter!

See?

Who can resist that face!

Or this one!

Dogs have this way of looking hopeful and ashamed all at the same time.

Huggable!

There is something about dogs in blankets that makes us itch to hug them, isn’t there!

This can happen:

Dogs can get stuck in blankets or Chihuahuas can get stuck in sleeves… as this one did.

Clearly dogs like sweaters

Hey! Dogs get bored too! They need to have something to do… such as biting through their human’s clothing.

Cats are people too!

One on two cat people also joined in the conversation… because representation!
