Most people tend to have a monotonous, boring, repetitive daily commute to and from work each day. Some of us tend to have rather more interesting commutes that have nothing to do with being stuck in noisy traffic and pollution. When IAS officer Supriya Sahu shared images of her road to work, many others did the same:
The short video winds through a hilly road lined with trees. This one beats the usual noise, smoke, crowds and road rage of the common or garden variety of commute.
Little if any of the road can be seen. There is only a sea of vehicles. As long as the traffic keeps inching forward, there is hope.
Some Indian cities have top notch metro networks that citizens are proud of; which they try to use responsibly.
This tweet tells us that gardening can be an enjoyable and fulfilling occupation.
…Are more difficult than others.
Some commutes are a lot more interesting than others.
..But they transport one to the workplace nevertheless.
Sometimes it is by boat, sometimes a dirt track, sometimes a lovely winding road.
Their ‘road to work’ is no more than a set of stairs.
Unlike the many TV news anchors who thunder down at us from the comfort and security of their studios, there are still those who do journalism the old-fashioned – real way.
There are many who have a vocation or a calling, not just a job. They do whatever is required to bring succour to those they pledged to help; no matter where and how remote they may be.
This road to work is at 12k feet elevation – a stunning but forbidding – river of ice.
This video claims to be from Mundka industrial area national capital Delhi. Clearly this road to work is neither scenic nor smooth.
Clearly, here, the #RoadToWork is not the problem, the work/job itself is the problem.
