Researchers have found that there are certain food and veggies which can lead to disturbing and weird dreams in a person. Hippocrates, who is regarded as the father of medicine, was one of the first to note a connection. And now, more than 2,000 years later a study has proved the relation between food and worst dreams.So, stay away from these foods if you want to sleep peacefully.

1. Cheese

Dairy products surely contain sleep-inducing hormones, but there is some exception to this. Studies suggest that people who consume processed dairy products like cheese are likely to suffer from weird and bad dreams.

2. Hot sauce

People who eat hot sauce before going to bed are likely to suffer from unsavory and stressful dreams. This is because spicy foods alter the body’s temperature and also alters dream formations during the Rapid eye motion stage of sleep.

3. Alcohol

You should never booze before going to bed because it is not only difficult to fall asleep, but studies have suggested that people who drink alcohol before going to bed encounter stressful dreams.

4. Sugar items like cakes and cookies

10 out of 8 suffer from stressful and unsavory dreams after consuming sweet sugar items like cakes and cookies. Most of the people attempt to eat something sweet before going to bed, which eventually lead to unsavory dreams.

5. Chocolates

After cakes and cookies, chocolates are the one that can lead to stressful and bizarre dreams. Chocolates are dream influencing food which often leads to disturbing and worst dreams ever. Because chocolate is high in caffeine and sugar, it can lead to the worst kind of dreams.

6. Chips

As per the study, about 12.5 percent of all disturbing dreams are caused by the consumption of “greasy junk food” like chips. Apart from disturbing dreams, avoid consuming chips as it may be difficult to give you a restful sleep.

7. Bread and Pasta

Reports suggest that consuming white bread or pasta leads to a disturbing and stressful kind of dreams. It is little known that the carbs found in bread and pasta actually convert into sugar, which may lead to upsetting dreams.

8. Soda

Due to sugar and caffeine content found in the soda, it is likely to give boring and upsetting dreams to a person. Consider avoiding soda before going to bed.

9. Fries

If a lot of fries are consumed before going to bed, it can lead to nightmares. Instead of fried, you can always use baked potatoes, chips or any other food items. Baked foods not only promotes good dreams, but it also aids in peaceful sleep.

10. Ice cream

Due to sugar and dairy base in it, it is likely that ice cream can give also bad dreams to a person. Not only ice creams, but consuming yogurt late night can also lead to upsetting dreams due to its dairy base.
