I wonder if it is a mere coincidence or a deliberately wry reference to the fact that many singles find Valentine’s Day to be rather difficult – SAD or Singles Awareness Day falls on 15th February each year, precisely a day after the day appropriated by lovers to declare their feelings and affections publicly.
A lot of single people and indeed a very great many couples can seek to get away from the commercialization associated with Valentine Day and its cloyingly obvious romantic trappings. There are those among us who gag at the idea of having anything to do with pink balloons and heart-shaped red pillows festooned with tinsel.
