Deconstructed Recipes According To Twitter

Deconstructed food is a thing, apparently. Some dismiss it as hipster nonsense; others think of it as a serious fine-dining concept. So, for instance, a deconstructed burger consists of the patties and the bun separate; the lettuce and tomato and all the dressings on the side. What’s the point of this? No idea. Diljit Dosanjh shared something similar on Twitter recently – some sort of deconstructed palak paneer. Some thought it was funny; others were far less impressed.

Diljit Dosanjh’s palak paneer do pyaza

There is one leaf of spinach, a piece of cheese, a slice of green chilli and precisely two slivers of onion. Good luck filling your stomach with that.

Paneer tikka

If that is palak paneer, this piece of paneer with a tilak is paneer tikka, responded one of the tweeple.

Aloo tikki ---- very simple recipe.

One good turn deserves another

While on the subject of paneer – here is kadhai paneer – literally – a kadhai and some paneer.

Others did this

While this is not exactly what deconstructed food is supposed to be about, there are plenty of tweeple who were willing to play along.

Hilarious

Most people thought that Dosanjh was demonstrating his creativity now during the lockdown – that he was sure to win Master Chef for this ‘originality’.

Meanwhile

One of the other tweeple shared how they had ‘burnt’ 2000 calories that day.

Food pictures!

Right now, with COVID-19 squeezing supplies and restricting movement, most of us are having to make dietary modifications. However, this doesn’t stop us from sharing pictures of the food we love and desire. It doesn’t stop us from dreaming about what we’re going to sink our teeth into – real food, not pretentious, deconstructed nonsense – once all this is over
