Is it a truck, is it a road roller, is it a transformer-like machine or something out of a sci-fi film? At first glance, it doesn’t look like anything on earth! But then when you look closely, it is something of an engineering marvel. Here is everything you wanted to know about the world’s biggest SUV created by Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi; who is a part of the royal family.
According to the Instagram page of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, this is the world's biggest SUV and it is called Dhabiyan. It is built and modified by Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan and has received attention from auto enthusiasts from different countries.
The monster machine is based on the Oshkosh M1075 military truck with the PLS (Palletized Load System), a Jeep Wrangler was annexed to it as a driver cabin. The truck comes with its huge 600hp Caterpillar C15 engine, 15.2-liter, 6-cylinder inline water-cooled diesel, according to the details listed on Instagram. The vehicle dimensions are Length (10,8m), Height (3,2m), Width (2,5m) and its amazing mass of 24 tons.
The largest SUV in the world is described by the Sheikh as a “desert ship” which is what the word Dabhiyan means. The biggest off-roaders in the world aren’t good enough, so this massive vehicle with ten wheels was created.
The vehicle that looks more like something out of a transformers movie than anything else, is not something people are likely to start seeing on the roads of UAE. Currently this beast is on display at the off-road history museum in Al Madam, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
A part of the royal family, the Sheikh evidently has some rather royal tastes. His Instagram page featuring various incredible cars is a testament to this.
On the Sheikh’s Instagram page we came across another rather incredible looking vehicle; which looks like one car upside down on another. Entitled ‘Houran and Sanamyn during the 2019 Fun Drive gathering in Liwa desert,’ is another one of the many eye-catching vehicles on the sheikh's page!
