We all thought that 2021 would be better than 2020 but that didn’t go as expected. So now as we take our first tentative steps into 2022, we are hesitant to hope – many of us are just hoping that 2021 wasn’t a trailer for this year. In other words, that things aren't going to get any worse. People wishing everyone Happy New Year sounded rather tentative – some happy, some not-so-happy:
And now 2022.
Right now, 2022 seems much the same as 2021.
…But worse, somehow.
…And hope for the best.
The world becoming a year older makes no difference.
Another year, another… so what’s new?
There is pressure to party on New Year’s Eve. However, things don’t always work out as hoped.
And regretted it the next day.
Some don’t feel the pressure and decide to party a whole other way.
There is coronavirus --- and then there is basic, natural inertia.

This. Many of us spent time and effort just keeping up with and replying to all the well-meaning messages.
Many of us make resolutions in the best of faith –
Somehow those resolutions become less and less important as the days go by.
No! Please, no!
The past few years have been a sort of blur --- monotonous, repetitive, constrictive --- some of us don’t really know what we did and don’t remember much either.
Maybe we’ll survive 2022 as well – so happy new year!
