K. Jayaganesh recently cleared the Indian Administrative Service Exam. After failing the past six times, he finally bagged his seat in his seventh attempt with a rank of 156. But Jayaganesh’s success story is not just an ordinary tale as he faced a lot of obstacles in his life. We track this amazing man’s inspirational journey.

Childhood in a remote village 

Born and brought up in a small village called Vinavamangalam in Vellore district, Jayaganesh was the eldest son with two sisters and one brother. As such, he always thought of helping his father in providing for the family.

 

Studied Mechanical Engineering from a Government College

After completing his high school, he joined a polytechnic college as he was told that he will get a job as soon as he passed out. After scoring 91%, he got a chance to study in a Government Engineering College

 

Searching For A Job

After completing his engineering , he went to Bangalore to search for a job and luckily, he got one. After working for a long time, he started thinking about his village and how none of his fellow villagers got any opportunity like the one he got.

 

Developed interest towards Civil Services

After heading to Bangalore, Jayaganesh got to know about the power that comes with being a collector and left his job to prepare for the IAS exams.

He couldn’t clear the exam in the first two attempts.Then he moved to Chennai after he got to know about a government coaching center through an external link.

Worked as a waiter and failing for the sixth time

He got the job of a billing clerk in the canteen in Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai. He was doing this while preparing for the exams. But he failed in the interview stage during his sixth attempt.

 

156 Rank in the seventh attempt 

Finally, he emerged victoriously after securing the 156th rank in his seventh attempt!
