The Man in the Red Dress and Other Hilarious Online Shopping Goof Ups

When you go to the store and buy something after looking at it, inspecting it and checking it at the time of billing, the chances of something going wrong are minimal. However, online shopping is a whole different story where the object you order is picked out by one person, packed by another and delivered by a completely different set of people. With the variations in sizes, colors and specs, you will agree that the chances of something going wrong increase exponentially!

What he ordered and what he got

What he ordered is on the left; what he got, clearly is not the same. He still tried it out and found that the dress fit!

The reactions were positive!

While commentators did admit that the dress was a ‘bit redder in person’, most thought that he looked ‘fab’. The guys at ASOS themselves thought that Mr. Dylan was ‘rocking the dress’. Some had sympathy for the woman whose order presumably got switched with this one: expecting a red dress with ruffles, she received men’s pants and sunglasses!

Unrealistic expectations

The guy in the red dress is a very unusual occurrence; getting the wrong thing which is oddly right! Usually it is a case of ordering something that looked great on the model only to find that it looks altogether different on the person buying it.

Not reading the product description

Some items could be child size, some items could be miniature! Read the product description properly please. Here is the peril of just ordering something because of what one thought was an unbelievable price!

The wrong size

Sometimes they send you the wrong size, but sometimes it’s about the buyer insisting that they are a different size than they actually are; sometimes, well measure tapes can be faulty!

For whom!

Some items may simply be toys… as in could actually be for dolls /doll houses!

Not zooming in!

On the face of it, it seemed like a pretty shortie pajama set by Ann Summers. But when it arrived, the print would have made a sailor blush. However, looking at the fact that Ann Summers is a company that specialises in adult toys and products, this should have come as no surprise!

‘Discreet’ packaging

They promise discreet packing. They don’t mention what it is on the invoice or the credit card charge slip. They charge extra for the packing too; just don’t specify that it would be in a package that is the exact shape of the object it contains.
