We could say Thums Up is the original Indian cola drink. It sets itself apart as being stronger and fizzier than its cousins Coke and Pepsi. Over the years, its advertising has also based itself on adventure or doing something ‘toofani’ or daring. In the past, we've had action men Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan endorsing the drink. Shah Rukh Khan is the latest to be seen in a Thums Up ad:
He is offered a ‘soft’ drink. Clearly ‘soft’ doesn’t suit the character he is playing – which seems to hint at the character he will be playing in his upcoming film Pathan.
It is also interesting that this sets up a Khan versus Khan battle for summer, with Salman Khan endorsing Pepsi and with other celebs in the soft drink fray as well.
SRK has not been too active on Twitter in recent times. When he tweeted the new ad, it promptly went viral.
Khan had been missing from the public eye especially after arrest of his son Aryan Khan. Fans are delighted that he is now back.
No, he is Bollywood say fans.
A lot of people like the drink and the actor – and therefore the combination of the two.
SRK’s new look – a little unkempt and wild – seems to have set temperatures soaring.
SRK has endorsed many soft drink brands over the years.
We used to SRK in romantic roles, but more recently his roles have been more action oriented.
Some loved the ad so much that they are shifting their loyalties from Coke to Thums Up.
People are calling this the collaboration of the year
This seems to be a teaser of the much anticipated, in-the-works for a long time SRK starrer, Pathan.
People are looking forward to the poster, teaser, trailer, release date and other information about the film Pathan. The ThumsUp ad is just a hint of things to come, feel the tweeple.
